The International Folklore Meeting is an event designed more than forty years ago by Cesare Baiocco and the late mayor Antonio Fabri, who for decades promoted the music and popular traditions of the area.
This Festival is one of the longest-running events promoting dance and popular music and celebrates the meeting of folk dance companies and music groups from all over the world. Combined with the “Sagra del pane casalereccio” (Homemade Bread Fair), the International Folklore Meeting revolves around the ancient maypole dance called the “Laccio d’Amore” (Ribbons of Love), which is still very popular and often performed, in the village, especially during weddings, when the ribbons are intertwined around the pole to the rhythm of the ssaldarellë (saltarello or saltarella) in order to wish the couple well.
